From 15–20 September 2026, Duisburg will host one of the world's premier canoe sport events: the ICF Canoe Polo World Championships.
As preparations for the World Championships continue, members of the Organising Committee – Georg Dopp (VFW), Jan Wolf (VFW), Torsten Weil and Sean Gouttrin (both DKV), and Jens Lüthge (KV NRW) – visited the regatta building in Duisburg-Wedau this week, which is currently undergoing extensive modernisation.
The purpose of the visit was to inspect the facility’s new premises and assess how they can best be utilised during the event in September 2026. The site inspection provided valuable insights and helped advance planning efforts for the World Championships.
